Traveling Volleyball

Program Overview

Age Ranges

Open to girls ages 10-14 (grades 4-8). Teams are typically divided into skill-level teams depending on the number of players and coach availability.

Coaching and Teams

Teams are coached by volunteers who typically have some volleyball coaching experience.

Please consider volunteering to be a coach as we would ideally like to have 2 coaches per team.

Objective

Traveling volleyball allows players the opportunity to play in a league with a focus on developing skills, having fun, and having more competitive play. The focus will be on improving skills and becoming more consistent with skills, leadership, and knowledge of volleyball

Equipment Needs

Players provide athletic shoes (required). Knee pads are optional but encouraged. Arm sleeves are optional as well. All other equipment will be provided.

Rules

Traveling teams follow the rules of the Northern Lights Fall League at Midwest Volleyball Warehouse.

Parent Resources

Parent Meeting: Parents and guardians are invited to a parent meeting at the start of each season.

Parent Volunteer Hours:

  • Parent volunteers are used at the scoring table during the Fall League and each family must assist during the tournaments. The scoring schedule will be determined by the team.
  • A Parent Team Manager is preferred

Playing Time:

  • Every player will play and at the higher level, teams may start to implement offense and defense which may include position-specific needs and rotations. Playing time may not be equal.
