Thank you for your child's participation in the traveling baseball tryout process.

If you do not see your phone number listed your player will be transferred to RAAA IN-HOUSE Baseball Program. There were 11 nine/ten year olds that transferred and 5 eleven year olds. If you have a 14 or 15 year old be sure to double check all levels for your phone number. Head coaches will be in contact with you to inform you of the first team meeting and/or first practice.

Signups: January/February
Season: Beginning of May to Mid July (Practices begin second week of April)
2010 Fees: $80 due at registration for Tryouts
Total Fee Costs for a typical Traveling Baseball Season is estimated at about $445 (Tryout $80, basic League related fees $240, and Tournaments about $125. Any additional tournaments, including State Tournaments are decided on a team-by-team basis and would be collected and paid by Team Coaches or Managers accordingly and based on the majority of each team’s participants.
$75 Uniform Vest Deposit, due after tryouts when teams are formed
$100 Tournament Assistance Deposit, due after tryouts when teams are formed

Participant: Boys
Eligibility: Ages 9 to 15 (9 year olds must currently be in the 3rd grade to try out. No exceptions. Players will play with their school grade. Proof of age is necessary for all tournaments. Age is deteremined on May 1st of the summer season. Rosemount Traveling Baseball will not allow any age level move-ups.
Equipment: Participants in the RAAA Traveling Baseball Program are required to purchase their own batting helmet. Bases, balls, and catcher gear is provided through RAAA. Optional, players can purchase and use their own bats or catcher gear. Please visit our Links page for information on purchasing sports equipment online.

Headsup Info: Age is determined by birthday on or before May 1 in the year of the summer season.
Proof of age is required to participate in tournaments. Players will also be required to play with their grade. No move-ups will be allowed in Rosemount Traveling Baseball.


The number of teams formulated are based on a combination of participants trying out and field availability required to support program.

Traveling baseball requires each participant to try out to demonstrate their abilities at an intermediate to advanced level of play. Players are evaluated by neutral parties who rate players and teams are formed accordingly.

There will be a MANDATORY parents' meeting to present details on the Traveling Baseball program. All parents MUST attend this meeting. The meeting for 2010 is scheduled for April 6th from 7-9:00pm at the RCC Auditorium.

Mandatory meetings will be held in April to present details on the upcoming Traveling season, and also highlight information and updates included within the Traveling Baseball Handbook. This meeting will conclude with breakout sessions for each team, providing you as parents an opportunity to meet your coaches and ask questions. Additional Fees for upcoming tournaments and seasonal Deposits (Uniform & Volunteer) are also collected at this time. All parents must attend this meeting. The meeting date and time is posted below.

Traveling Baseball competes with teams from the Twin Cities area and occasionally travels to other Minnesota cities or participates in tournaments in other states. For more information prior to joining a traveling team, contact the Program Director. To find out about your team's travel participation, contact your coach.

Volunteers keep our RAAA Traveling Baseball program running successfully:

Program Director Coordinates the entire program, monitoring registrations and recruiting volunteers for the various positions within the program. Provides information about the Traveling Baseball program on the RAAA website and coordinates master game and practice schedules. Makes arrangements for many of the tournaments RAAA Traveling Teams participate in.
RAAA Traveling Board Members Volunteers work jointly with the Program Director and participate in developing and maintaining established policy to ensure compliance with state and national baseball regulations and guidelines. Members attend Traveling Board Meetings on a regular basis. Coordinate efforts by hosting one or two annual RAAA Tournaments, participating in stocking and maintaining concession booths, preparing fields, coordinating umpire scheduling.
Head Coaches Manage a team once teams are created, lead games and practices. May arrange for additional tournaments. Coordinates efforts when their team participates in state or national tournaments.
Assistant Coaches Assist Head Coach in managing teams in games and practices, making arrangements for additional tournaments. Coordinates efforts with Head Coach when their team participates in state or national tournaments.
