Why are registrations for this late fall/ winter sport held so early in May? Due to the need to register for tournaments in the summer, the board needs to have a reasonable handle on the number of participants at each grade/gender level. This season, we have adopted deadlines and waiting lists due to the increased level of participation and the decreased availablity of gym space to accommodate all players.
Q: Can I still register my child for Traveling Basketball even though the registration period shows as closed? A: YES! Even though the Registration period shows as closed, However, beginning with registrations in May for the 2007-2008 season, we will be implementing DEADLINES and Possible Waiting Lists by Grade and Gender. Due to the necessity of registering for traveling tournaments in the Summer, we need to have estimated number of participants to determine the number of teams at each grade/gender. WIth gym space becoming more and more Limited we may not have the luxury to add participants as in Prior Years A late registrationfee in additiona to the regular fee of $165.00 will be assessed. This fee includes a $50.00 Non-refundable Tryout fee. Waiting lists will be constructed by Gender/grade and priority determined by date late registration was received by the RTB Board of directors.

Q: If I volunteered to be a coach for my child's team, how will I be notified if I am selected as the coach? A: Once players have completed evaluations and team assignments are completed, the coordinator for your group, Boys or Girls, will compile a list of all parents who volunteered to be Head Coach. If there are multiple volunteers for Head Coach for a particular team, the coordinator will contact each volunteer, discuss the options, etc. If following this discussion, there are still multiple candidates for Head Coach for the same team, The coordinators will schedule interviews for these individuals with the Board of Directors, or the Boards designee. Each person volunteering to be a coach will be required to submit a coaching application ( available on Traveling Basketball page) as well as undergo a background check.
